Currently, 150-250 visitors are being turned away daily at Haena State Park because they do not know about the new rules and restrictions.
To protect cultural and natural resources from overuse, Haena State Park is now subject to daily visitor limits and requires advanced paid reservations to enter the park, as well as for parking inside the park. Please observe the following new practices:
PLEASE AVOID DRIVING TO HAENA STATE PARK WITHOUT AN ADVANCE RESERVATION AND PERMIT. Vehicles without a reservation and permit will be kindly asked to turn around. Park entry is only for the day of the reservation. Please visit https://www.gohaena.com for more information, and note that there is no cellular reception at Haena State Park, so reservations must be made in advance.
- Parking at Haena State Park is extremely limited and requires advanced reservations and a permit.
- Presently no overnight parking is allowed at the Haena State Park parking lot.
- Walk-ins also require a permit reserved in advance of your visit.
PLEASE USE THE NORTH SHORE SHUTTLE. Your North Shore Shuttle reservation ticket to Haena State Park includes your paid entrance to the park and helps diminish impacts on this natural and culturally sensitive area, so future generations may experience it. Please visit https://kauainsshuttle.com/ to reserve your seat.
THERE IS NO PARKING ALONG KUHIO HIGHWAY IN HAENA. Illegally parking along the Kuhio Highway interferes with local traffic and creates health and economic hazards for residents and visitors alike. Fines and surcharges for illegal parking may be up to $400.00.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON SIDE STREETS in Haena to respect residents who call these neighborhoods home.
